Dinesh Karthik named in Sky Sports’ commentary panel for The Hundred

Ace India wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has been named as part of Sky Sports’ star-studded commentary lineup for The Hundred, a professional franchise 100-ball cricket tournament in England and Wales run by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

The tournament will start with a women’s game between Oval Invincibles and Manchester Originals at The Kia Oval on July 21.

The commentary panel will be led by former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, who will be one of the presenters.

Meanwhile, Flintoff’s former teammates Kevin Pietersen, England pacer Stuart Broad, England women international Tammy Beaumont — who will also play for London Spirit during the tournament, have also been named a part of the commentary line-up.

On the other hand, former Pakistan quick Wasim Akram, former Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara, West Indies’ two-time T20 World Cup-winning captain Daren Sammy and former Australia women’s cricketer star Mel Jones will also be part of the commentary team.

Sky Sports regulars like Nasser Hussain, Ebony Rainford-Brent, Rob Key, David Lloyd, Michael Atherton and Mark Butcher are the others in the panel.

Originally scheduled to start in the summer of 2020, The Hundred was postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
