England pacer Mark Wood reportedly pulls out of IPL 2021 auction

England pacer Mark Wood has reportedly withdrawn his name from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 Player Auction, scheduled to be held later on Thursday in Chennai.

According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, the franchises have been informed at a briefing in Chennai on Wednesday about the development.

Wood, 31, has decided to pull out of the mini-auction in order to spend time with his family at home.

Significantly, Wood was among the eight overseas players, who chose to be slotted in the highest bracket of Rs 2 crore.

Significantly, a total of 292 players will go under the hammer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, scheduled to be held in Chennai on February 18. Of the total players, 164 are Indians, 125 overseas players and three players from Associate Nations, who will be up for grabs in the auction.
