IPL 2020: Rahane, Gayle, Imran Tahir among players up for grabs

The Indian Premier League Season 13 reaches the halfway mark as all the teams have played seven matches each. Though technically, or mathematically, no team is out of the race to qualify to the knockout stage, there has emerged a yawning gap among the teams atop the table and the ones at the bottom.

The Transfer Window opening today (Tuesday) will open doors of possibilities for the teams to strengthen their weak links.

The players like Ajinkya Rahane, Umesh Yadav, Chris Gayle, Imran Tahir, Moeen Ali, Chris Lynn, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Keemo Paul, Chris Morris and Dale Steyn will technically be up for grabs.

The players who have not been in the first XI or played as concussion substitutes for at least two matches during the season can be available for the trading between the teams.

The teams can negotiate with the “parent” teams to acquire a player during the five-day trading window for the ongoing season.

The traded player, however, cannot be named in the XI in the second leg match.

The following players technically qualify for trading if their “parent” teams are open to negotiations:

Kings XI Punjab: Chris Gayle, Chris Green, Chris Jordan, Lockie Ferguson, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Tom Banton, Hardus Viljoen, Ishan Porel, Simran Singh, Tajinder Singh, Nikhil Naik, Ali Khan, Prasidh Krishna,Murugan Ashwin, Deepak Hooda, Arshdeep Singh, Darshan Nalkhande, Krishnappa Gowtham, Harpreet Brar, Jagadeesha Suchith, Mandeep Singh, Rinku Singh, Sandeep Warrier, Siddhesh Lad and M Siddharth.

Delhi Capitals: Daniel Sams, Alex Carey, Sandeep Lamichhane, Keemo Paul,  Ajinkya Rahane, Avesh Khan, Tushar Deshpande, Mohit Sharma, Harshal Patel,  and Lalit Yadav.

Rajasthan Royals: David Miller, Oshane Thomas, Aniruddha Joshi, Andrew Tye, Akash Singh, Anuj Rawat, Yashaswi Jaiswal, Mayank Markande, Varun Aaron, Kartik Tyagi, Ankit Rajpoot, Manan Vohra, Mahipal Lomroor and Shashank Singh.

Mumbai Indians: Mitchell McClenaghan, Chris Lynn, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Mohsin Khan, Sherfane Rutherford, Anmolpreet Singh, Prince Balwant Rai, Aditya Tare, Anukul Roy, Saurabh Tiwary, Digvijay Deshmukh, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jayant Yadav and Anmolpreet Singh.

Royal Challengers Bangalore:  Adam Zampa, Josh Philippe, Chris Morris, Dale Steyn, Shahbaz Ahmed, Pavan Deshpande, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Moeen Ali, Mohammed Siraj, Parthiv Patel, Pawan Negi and Umesh Yadav.

Sunrisers Hyderabad: Billy Stanlake, Fabien Allen, Mohammed Nabi, Basil Thampi, Shahbaz Nadeem, Mohammad Nabi, Sandeep Sharma, Shreevats Goswami, Siddharth Kaul, Basil Thampi, Vijay Shankar, Wriddhiman Saha, Virat Singh, Sanjay Yadav and  Bavanaka Sandeep.

Chennai Super Kings: Josh Hazlewood, KM Asif, Imran Tahir, Mitchell Santner,  Shardul Thakur, Narayan Jagadeesan, Ruturaj Gaekwad, Karn Sharma, Monu Kumar,  and R Sai Kishore

The window can come as a good opportunity for seasoned pro Ajinkya Rahane, who could get only one match to play as a replacement for injured Rishabh Pant. The former Rajasthan Royals skipper can fill the void created by Suresh Raina’s absence for a struggling Chennai Super Kings, who had made it to the IPL final last year.
