Vijay Hazare Trophy: Unnamed Bihar player tests positive for COVID-19

An unnamed cricketer from Bihar has returned positive for Covid-19, following which all the other cricketers from the state team, who are in Bengaluru to feature in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, are being tested.

According to reports, all the other 21 players will undergo COVID-19 tests on Tuesday with the results coming by evening.

Meanwhile, a Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) official has said that the game would go on as per the schedule.

Earlier, a player each from Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh had tested positive for COVID-19 last week, however both the teams have continued playing their league games after undergoing tests.

Significantly, the matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy are being played under the bio-secure bubble across venues.

The Bihar team is placed in Elite Group C and is scheduled to take on Uttar Pradesh in a league game on Wednesday.
