The ongoing edition of the Euro 2020 is not just making headlines for its breathtaking action on the field but also for some off-field acts by some star footballers as after Cristiano Ronaldo’s snubbed Coca-Cola bottles during a press conference, France’s Paul Pogba performed something similar after his side’s contest against Germany.
While attending a port-match press conference after France pipped Germany 1-0 in their opening Euro 2020 match on Tuesday, Pogba spotted a bottle of Heineken beer in front of him which he removed and placed it under the table.
Although, there were a few bottles of Coca-Cola too but unlike Ronaldo, Pogba didn’t snubbed the soft drink.
Notably, Pogba, who is a Muslim, has always refrained from either consuming or endorsing any alcoholic products.
Commenting on the act, a spokesperson of the tournament said: “Players are offered water, alongside Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, on arrival at our press conferences.”
It now remains to be seen whether Pogba’s act will have any affect on the brand valuation of the company or not as Ronaldo’s action of snubbing Coca-Cola had an adverse effect on the stock prices of the bevareg company.
Significantly, Coca-Cola’s stock prices had fallen down after Ronaldo’s gesture from $56.10 to $55.22, taking a 1.6% dip.
