TNCA to decide on crowd entry for first two Tests on Monday

After the State Government’s permission to allow the sporting stadiums to be filled by 50 percent spectators, the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) will take a call on letting in crowds and media for the first Two Test between India and England on Monday.

As per sources, though it will be a bit difficult for the TNCA to allow crowd for the first Test, which will begin on February, there is a good chance of spectators to be allowed for the second Test.

As there is very little time now for the first Test, the association is finding it tough to make all the necessary preparations in place. However, it is confident of making the required changes in the stands to maintain social distancing process during the second Test and is likely to allow crowd for it.

Earlier, the England Cricket Board (ECB) had requested for no crowd during the series. But following the State government’s nod, the TNCA will possibly request the BCCI to talk with the ECB for allowing 50 percent spectators.

The second Test will be held from February 13.
