Afridi ruled out of PSL 6 remainder with back injury

In a major setback for the Multan Sultans, all-rounder Shahid Afridi has been ruled out of the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 remainder, scheduled to be held in the UAE in June’s first week, due to a back injury.

Although Afridi had started his training for the remiander, he felt back pain following which he consulted his doctor, who advised the 44-year-old to rest and skip the remainder of the tournament.

Afridi then took to twitter and said: “While training for the remainder of @thePSLt20, I felt lower back pain & had to consult a doctor. Unfortunately I have been advised to rest and can no longer accompany my team @MultanSultans. I am heartbroken as I was practicing and training really hard.”

Notably, Afridi’s team, the Multan Sultans, had a dissapointing season so far as they currently hold the penultimate spot in the points table.

The side has managed just a solitary win in five matches.

Featuring in four of the five games, Afridi has managed just three runs and scalped two wickets.
