Ban Tech acquires Bangladesh’s home series broadcasting rights

Ban Tech, a marketing agency, has acquired the media rights for Bangladesh’s home series for the period running between May 18, 2021 to October 5, 2023, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials said on Monday.

As per reports, the broadcasting rights were acquired at BDT 161.5 Crore (USD 19.07 million).

Notably, the Bangla Tigers is scheduled to play nine home series during the time period, which will feature seven Tests along with 18 ODIs and 19 T20Is.

“Ban Tech got our media rights for next two years. We are happy (with Ban Tech) as they managed to bid close to our expectation,” BCB finance committee chairman Ismail Haider was quoted as saying  by Cricbuzz.

Earlier, BCB had sold its worldwide media rights for six years to Gazi TV for the price of USD 20.02 million that ran until April 2020.

Meanwhile, Ban Tech is now negotiating with T Sports and Gazi TV as they are the frontrunners to telecast the upcoming home series against Sri Lanka, slated from May 23.
