Bangladesh upcoming tour of Zimbabwe altered due to DPL

In a bid to create a window for the Dhaka Premier League (DPL), Bangladesh’ tour to Zimbabwe is expected to see an alteration, the country’s board officials have said.

As per a report in Cricbuzz, a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official has said that one Test has been reduced from their upcoming tour of Zimbabwe, where they were initially scheduled to play two Tests along with three ODIs and two T20Is.

An additional T20I has been added to the tour replacing one of the two Test in the tour, which will begin on July 7.

BCB cricket operation chairman Akram Khan has said that the decision was taken keeping in mind the upcoming DPL.

“We have decided to deduct one Test from the tour and add one T20s,” said Akram. “We have taken this decision in order to accommodate some time from DPL,” Khan was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

Significantly, BCB is planning to stage the DPL from May 31 and Bangladesh team is expected to fly to Zimbabwe on June 29. After completing their practice, the tourist will play the lone Test in Bulawayo.
