BCCI announces India’s squad for T20 World Cup

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced the 15-member squad for the ICC T20 World Cup, scheduled to begin on October 16 in Australia, with pcaers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel making their return to the squad after recovering from their respective injuries.

The Indian team will be playing two limited-overs series at home against Australia and South Africa before the showpiece event in Australia.

As per the announcement, Rohit Sharma will lead the side with KL Rahul serving as his deputy. Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who rediscovered his form with a scintillating maiden T20I ton against Afghanistan recently, will form the spine of the Indian team alongside the trailblazing Suryakumar Yadav.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya has been also included in the 15-member squad alongside Axar Patel while Ravindra Jadeja will miss the tournament due to an unjury. Meanwhile, Deepak Hooda has retained his place in the squad.

Also, two wicketkeeper-batters in Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik have been picked for the upcoming tournament.

Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin has also found a place in the squad alongside Yuzvendra Chahal.

The Indian squad also received a much needed boost with the return of pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel.

Veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, young Arshdeep Singh have also been included in the squad, which includes four reserves in Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi, Deepak Chahar.
