Delhi gets its date with Airtel Half Marathon despite COVID-19 concerns

Top International field is expected for this year’s Airtel Delhi Half Marathon in spite of the prevailing COVID-19 concerns. The Even is slated for November 29 and registration have begun on October 30, Friday.

The year 2020 has been a challenging and pushed us to the limit in every way possible. But what we will remember is, how we all emerged together from this, to adopt the new normal and restart the healing and rebuilding process.

The World Athletics Gold Label Road Race, the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon (ADHM), since its inception, has held India’s flag high; representing its sporting spirit, and generosity.

On 29th November 2020, the world’s most prestigious half marathon, will be the showcase of a resurgent sporting India to the world.

Supported by Government of NCT of Delhi, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Ministry of External Affairs, Sports Authority of India, Athletics Federation of India, World Athletics (WA), Association of International Marathons & Distance Races (AIMS) our sponsors and partners; ADHM 2020 will once again have the best athletes from around the world, running alongside our national elite, in the heart of our capital city.

Airtel Delhi Half Marathon will follow the highest level of safety-standards, with bio-secure zones to ensure a COVID free race for the elite runners.

While the Elite runners will be at the start line at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, on the 29th November, amateurs from across the globe will join them via the exclusive Airtel Delhi Half Marathon Mobile App. Participation this year will be from a convenient location, wherever you are. Registrations for   three Race categories begin 30th October 2020.

ADHM 2020 AN ELITE RACE

The $233,270 prize money event will witness world-class elites and India’s best taking centre-stage in the capital city. The event will be telecast LIVE on Star Sports.

One of the first global sporting events to be hosted by India, Airtel Delhi Half Marathon will maintain all mandatory protocols in line with the advisory issued by the Government of India.

INDIA RUNS WITH ADHM

Runners and the running community across India are the heart and soul of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. ADHM 2020 gives a unique opportunity for everyone in India to experience the magic of the event from anywhere in the country. India will run with ADHM using the new Airtel Delhi Half Marathon Mobile App.

This specialized event app will be launched exclusively with an array of features for an enhanced running experience. Timing and distance tracker, inspiring audio soundscapes and much more.

Registrations for all race categories Half Marathon, 10Km, Great Delhi Run (5km) will commence on 30th Oct. at 07.00 pm and stay open until 27th November on the event website, airteldelhihalfmarathon.procam.in.

Participants are urged to always follow prevailing Government Health Advisory and Safety Protocols.

The entry fee for Half Marathon and 10Km is Rs. 499. This includes a personalised e-bib, personalised e-medal and an e-certificate.

In addition to that, participants will receive a once-in-a-lifetime personalized Unity medal that will be couriered to them. The Unity Medal is specially crafted  for this year’s edition for the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. Inspired by the Ashoka Chakra, the unique medal depicts the 24 spokes, that represent the 24 human values needed to evolve.

The entry fee for Great Delhi Run is Rs 299 and includes a personalised e-bib, personalised e-medal and an e-certificate.

For this edition, participants will have the option of running through the ADHM race week i.e. 25th-29th November 2020, using ADHM app. i.e. from 0000 hrs on 25th November till 23:59 hrs on 29th November. A participant would be allowed to run and complete his run any time in this time frame depending on his convenience.

PHILANTHROPHY & GREAT DELHI RUN

ADHM is one of the largest sporting platforms for philanthropy in India. Given the need of the hour and to provide a fillip to the fund-raising effort, 50% of the Great Delhi Run 5km entry fee will be treated as a donation. The donation amounts will be directly transferred to India Cares Foundation, ADHM’s Philanthropy Partner, for equal distribution among NGOs registered for the event.
