Football Delhi signs PSPB as associate sponsor for women’s league

Football Delhi President Saji Prabhakaran on Friday announced Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) as the as associate sponsor of the Football Delhi Women’s League 2022-23.

The Football Delhi Women’s Premier League will be launched on August 18 with nine teams competing in a double round-robin format with a total of 72 matches. The Football Delhi Women’s Championship with 15 participating teams will commence on August 25.

Speaking on the occasion, member secretary Vivek Kumar on behalf of the PSPB said: “PSPB continues its endeavours in fuelling energy in sports and specially promotion of women participation in sport. I wish the participants all the very best.”

PMeanwhile, Prabhakaran said: “PSPB has done exceptional work in promoting sports in India and it is very encouraging for all of us in Delhi that PSPB is coming forward to support our women’s league as this partnership will immensely help us further grow women’s football in Delhi and engage more girls in football.”

“Women’s league in Delhi is growing from strength to strength each season and PSPB must be complimented for deciding to support women’s football in Delhi,” he added.

Notably, Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) was established in June, 1979 and has continued to promote sport across India since then.
