Ahead of the clash against Australia on Friday, Pakistan left-handed batter Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out due to a knee injury, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed.
Meanwhile, Fakhar will not be available for selection until next week.
Moreover, all-rounder Salman Agha, too, caught a fever on the Wednesday evening practice session and is on his way to recover.
Meanwhile, several Pakistan players had been battling with fever, resulting in the absence of six squad members during their initial training on Tuesday in Bengaluru. Abdullah Shafique, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha, Mohammad Haris, and Zaman Khan were the players opting for rest on Tuesday.
Apart from Fakhar and Salman, the other players were declared fit for the training session on Wednesday. As per reports, all the Pakistan players, barring Mohammad Haris, who continued his recovery from fever, participated in the training seasion.
On the other hand, there is some good news for Australia as Travis Head’s fractured hand has recovered quicker than expected and he will be joining the squad in India very soon. However, Head will miss the Pakistan game but will be most likely available for the Netherlands match on October 25.
