IPL 2021: CSK, MI depart for UAE

The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday departed for Dubai for the remainder of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 19.

CSK shared a picture of Dhoni in which the former India skipper can be seen at the airport.

“Get ready folks!” the franchise tweeted.

After hanging his boots from international cricket on August 15, 2020, Dhoni now only features in the cash-rich league.

Earlier in the day, defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) also departed for UAE.

The Rohit Sharma-led MI will be up against the CSK on September 19 when the second led of the IPL 14 resumeS.

The final game of the league stage will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals on October 8.
