IPL 2021: No request for removal of logo in CSK’s jersey made by Moeen Ali

After various media report stated England spinner Moeen Ali had requested his franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to remove an alcohol brand’s logo from his jersey, franchise has now confirmed that no such request has been made by the player.

England and CSK all-rounder Moeen Ali was into spotlight after some sections of media reported that he has requested his franchise management to remove an alcohol brand’s logo from his jersey.

Significantly, the CSK jersey carries the logo of SNJ 10000, a beer brand of Chennai-based SNJ Distilleries. The reports said that Moeen had requested CSK to remove the logo from his jersey to which the franchise agreed.

However, now CSK has confirmed that there has been no such request from Moeen.

Earlier on Wednesday, Moeen Ali, who was recently pocketed by CSK for Rs 7 crore in the mini-auctions, had commended on MS Dhoni’s ability to stay calm in pressure situations and one who takes the pressure off from his players.

“It’s very important to have strong leadership and coaches who stay calm, who take the pressure off the players as much as they can and are consistent. We are very lucky we have that. At CSK I feel the reality is there for us to win the competition. I’m excited about playing with the players we have here,”Ali was quoted as saying by the franchise’s website.

“I think what differentiates CSK from other teams is actually how they structure everything — from the squad they have to the way they do things. They look a very calm franchise that doesn’t panic,” he added.

“I’ve spoken to players who have played under MS and they tell me how he improves their game. I believe a great captain does that. I think it’s something on every player’s wish list to play under MS. I think it’s the confidence and the clarity he gives people. It’s exciting,” Ali further expressed.

CSK will open their 2021 IPL campaign against Delhi Capitals on April 10 in Mumbai.
