Kerala Blasters sack head coach Kibu Vicuna

Indian Super League (ISL) side Kerala Blasters has sacked head coach Kibu Vicuna following the team’s crushing defeat against Hyderabad FC at the Tilak Maidan on Tuesday.

With the loss (0-4), Kerala Blasters are now also out of the race to the playoffs.

The Blasters’ defence was once again the culprit as Hyderabad put up a ruthless performance in the second half to crush them.

In the ongoing season, Kerala Blasters have managed only 16 points from 18 games and are placed 10th on the 11-team table.

They have won three games, drawn seven and have suffered defeat in eight games.

The Blasters’ defence has been the worst in the season, conceding 33 goals while their attackers have scored 22 goals.

Significantly, Vicuna was roped in by the Blasters ahead of the ongoing season after they parted ways with former coach Eelco Schattorie last season.

Last season, Vicuna had won the I-League title with Mohun Bagan.
