MPL Sports to launch new jersey for Men in Blue ahead of T20 World Cup

MPL Sports, Team India’s official kit partners, on Tuesday announced to launch a new jersey for the Indian cricket team ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia this year.

MPL posted a video on Twitter in which captain Rohit Sharma, all-rounder Hardik Pandya and batter Shreyas Iyer requested the fans to be a part of their dream jersey. “The game is not really the same without you guys cheering us on! Show your fandom along with BCCI for the game by sharing your fan moments,” it wrote on Twitter.

Although MPL Sports didn’t stated anything about the design and pattern of team India’s new kit however, going by the video, it can be said that the sky-blue shade will be back. Currently, Team India wear a darker shade of blue in ODIs and T20Is, which was launched ahead of last year’s T20 World Cup.

Earlier on Monday, the BCCI’s selection committee had announced the 15-member India squad for the showpiece evnt. The squad saw the comeback of pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel in the squad for the T20 World Cup starting next month in Australia.

Notably, the duo were not a part of the recently concluded Asia Cup T20 tournament due to injuries.

On the other hand, Mohammed Shami was named as standby while Avesh Khan was dropped from India’s pace arsenal for the showpiece event.

The T20 World Cup will begin on October 16 and the final will be held on November 13.
