Mumbai Indians stars aim to light up Uttarakhand Premier League

Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer Akash Madhwal and former wicket-keeper Aditya Tare will be amongst the big names taking part in the ongoing Uttarakhand Premier League (UPL), taking place in Dehradun.

A total of six teams will be taking part in 18 matches in the state’s domestic T20 league. FanCode will be live streaming all the matches. The league started on June 22 and will run till June 30. Matches will be played at 3:30 PMand 7:30 PM. All the matches will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium in Dehradun.

Talking about the tournament, Madhwal said: “I’m really excited about the league. It gives a platform for budding players to shine and even IPL scouts are always looking out for talent. All the players will give their best and who knows, the next Uttarakhand star might be found through the league.”

Former Mumbai captain Aditya Tare said he’s looking forward to sharing the dressing room with the youngsters and contributing to their development. “Uttarakhand has a lot of talent, these leagues will provide the right opportunity for them to shine. And with the league being broadcasted through FanCode, it will encourage the players even more.“

Nainital Ninjas, Dehradun Dabang, Tehri Titans, Udham Singh nagar Tigers, Haridwar Heroes and Pithorgarh Champs are the six teams taking part in the competition.

15 matches will be played in the round-robin format, and the top 4 teams will then battle it out in the semifinals and finals.
