Pavilion End at Trent Bridge set to be renamed in honour of Stuart Broad

England’s legendary pacer Stuart Broad is all set to be honoured for his terrific performances for the country, especially in the Test cricket as the Pavillion End at Trent Bridge stadium is going to be renamed on his name.

Broad, the Nottingham pacer had a fantastic career for the Three Lions England he retired from the sport after the Ashes 2023. The 37-year-old finished his international career with 847 wickets across the three formats, which includes 604 wickets in the longest format of the game.

Along with James Anderson, Broad wreaked havoc against the best batters during their time.

Commenting on the development, Nottinghamshire chairman, Andy Hunt said: “Stuart’s achievements at the highest level are quite remarkable – it’s highly unlikely we’ll ever see another English bowler match his record over the past 15 years, let alone one from within our county’s borders.”

“Throughout that time, Stuart has been the perfect ambassador for Nottinghamshire – not just through his deeds with the ball, but also through his unstinting commitment to the cause for his county and his continued championing of Trent Bridge on the world stage,” he added.

In the latest edition of the Ashes, Broad finished as the leading wicket-taker for England with 22 wickets in 10 innings.

Meanwhile, the legendary pacer also finished as the second-highest wicket-taker for England with a tally of 604 wickets and was only behind Anderson, who has 690 scalps.

Broad is also the highest wicket-taker for the Three Lions in Ashes history, finishing off with 153 wickets in 40 games.

“It feels only fitting that the end of his home ground where he recorded some of his greatest achievements will now serve as a permanent honour to his cricketing career,” Hunt said.

Not just with the ball but Broad also contributed with the bat as he has the highest score at No 9 position with a score of 169 against Pakistan in 2010.
