PSL 6 remainder postponed for indefinite period

The Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) sixth edition has been postponed indefinitely once again due to operational hurdles.

PSL 6, which was forced to be postponed in March after several players and people associated with the league had tested positive, was supposed to be held in the UAE however, several challenges were in place for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Meanwhile, the meeting of the PCB officials with the PSL franchises is underway and an official announcement would be made soon.

Although, the Abu Dhabi government had given a green signal to the PCB for holding the remainder of the tournament in its country, the major obstruction was reportedly one of the condition set by the host authorities.

As per reports, the Abu Dhabi government condition was that each and every person involved in the league – players, match officials, support staffs, broadcast and production crew should have been vaccinated against Covid-19, which was coming in as the major hurdle before PCB.

As these people come from various parts of the globe, the vaccination process in their respective countries were at different stages and in such a scenario, the conditions set by the Abu Dhabi government seems as a challenge before the PCB.

Moreover, travel restrictions have been put in place in the Abu Dhabi for flights from several countries, especially those coming from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and a majority of these people come from these countries.
