Puma comes forward with sponsorship deal for Ryan Burl

After Zimbabwe cricketer Ryan Burl’s shared an emotional plea for a sponsor in his post on social media, sportsgear giant Puma has vowed to sponsor the Zimbabwe cricketer.

Significantly, Burl’s post on his worn-out shoes went viral on social media where he had said: “Any chance we can get a sponsor so we don’t have to glue our shoes back after every series @newbalance @NewBalance_SA @NBCricket @ICAssociation.”

Later, Puma replied to Burl in a quote tweet saying: “Time to put the glue away, I got you covered @ryanburl3.”

“I can’t wait to join the @pumacricket team! Thanks so much for reaching out,” said Burl in reply to Puma and 10 minutes later, he tweeted that he has been taken on board.

Notably, Burl is an aggressive left handed middle order batsman and a part time leg-spinner. He has managed 243 runs from 18 ODIs and bagged seven wickets.

In Tests, the 27-year-old has 24 runs from three games and four wickets to his name.
