Sony Sports Network to broadcast Ashes 2023 from June 16

The Ashes 2023 will reignite one of the fiercest rivalries of all time, as Australia prepares to take on England between 16th June to 31st July 2023.

The much-anticipated series will mark Australia’s return to English soil, in Tests, after an evenly contested 2-all Ashes result in 2019. Sony Sports Network will exclusively showcase the nail-biting clash between the two giants on Sony Sports Ten 5 channels.

Fresh off their historic triumph in the ICC World Test Championship final, Australia will arrive at Edgbaston, brimming with confidence and eager to consolidate their Ashes dominance.

The forthcoming series will witness some of the cricketing world’s finest talents take centre stage. Spearheaded by the extraordinary Pat Cummins, Australia’s bowling attack will aim to rattle the English batters. Accompanying Cummins will be the seasoned Steve Smith, an esteemed batsman known for his remarkable ability to compile big runs. The young and dynamic Marnus Labuschagne will also be a key figure in Australia’s quest for victory.

Seventeen months on from their latest winless tour of Australia, England will begin their quest to regain the Ashes for the first time since 2017. Under the stewardship of head coach Brendon McCullum, the hosts will plan to unleash their aggressive brand of cricket. Ben Stokes, England’s captain and one of the world’s top all-rounders, will lead the charge alongside prolific batter Joe Root and the hard-hitting Jonny Bairstow.

Both teams have exhibited stellar performances in recent times under their respective coaches. Australia, led by Andrew McDonald, has triumphed in an impressive 11 out of their 16 Test matches. England, under Brendon McCullum has emerged victorious in 11 of their last 13 Test matches.

With a battle of this magnitude on the horizon, cricket enthusiasts can expect a closely fought contest between two cricketing powerhouses. While WTC Champions Australia enter the series as favourites, England, fueled by their new style of play, is determined to make a resounding statement on their home soil.
