The upcoming edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 league will start from January 28 and is set to be a star-studded one. A plethora of international stars will take part in the competition as global icons. West Indians Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and Dwayne Bravo are some of the big names which will bring the tournament to life.
Team Abu Dhabi has confirmed Chris Gayle, one of the most destructive cricketers the world has ever seen, as their icon player. The big Jamaican will be pumped to give his best shot in the league and will be a massive threat for the bowlers.
“The shorter the format, the more exciting the game becomes. I can’t wait to play at the Zayed Cricket Stadium again,” said Gayle.
While power-hitter Andre Russell will don the Northern Warriors jersey, Delhi Bulls will have experienced all-rounder Dwayne Bravo in their ranks. Apart from his exceptional abilities as a bowler, Sunil Narine has established himself as a handy customer with the bat in the shorter format of the game. The player will represent the Deccan Gladiators as their icon.
World T20 winner and Pakistan legend Shahid Afridi will play for the Qalandars in the upcoming edition.
“I look forward to coming back to the Abu Dhabi T10 and playing in one most stunning stadiums in the world,” said Afridi.
Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik will not only be a part of defending champion Maratha Arabians but will also act as their skipper.
Sri Lankans Isuru Udana and Thisara Perera will also take part in the tournament as global icons. Udana and Perera will represent the Bangla Tigers and Pune Devils respectively.
