No kit partner for Team India’s tour of Australia!

It will be difficult to recall when a Board of Control for Cricket in India commercial opportunity had failed to invoke market interest.

In Indian sports market nothing sells better than international cricket and the Indian Premier League.

However, at a time when the Indian Premier League sponsorship sales have exceeded expectations – for the BCCI, franchisees and the broadcaster alike – there are few buyers for a BCCI sponsorship opportunity.

The Indian cricket team faces the threat of flying to Australia without a jersey and kit partners. The BCCI tender to find a team India kit and jersey, according to sources, has drawn a blank.

The BCCI in the first week of August had initiated the tender process to find a kit and jersey partner for the Indian national, age group and women’s cricket teams.

Bids were invited for the national team kit sponsor and official merchandising partner rights.

SportzFront has learnt that the board has not received any interest. This could lead to the team to play the Australia series without a kit and jersey sponsor.

Incumbent Nike as reported earlier had shown no interest in continuing the partnership.
