The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly looking to hire UK-based safety and technology firm — Restrata to create a bio secure bubble for the remainder of the postponed season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The PSL was postponed on March 4 as seven individuals within the tournament’s bubble, were tested positive for Covid-19.
Significantly, Restrata has succesfully created bio-bubbles for tournaments like the Indian Premier League, the Abu Dhabi T10 league.
Even though the tournament was being organised in a bio-secured bubble, as many as seven players, who featured in the league, had tested positive.
The PSL will now once again start in June.
On March 11, PCB and the franchises held a virtual meeting where all the parties agreed to restart the season in Karachi in two and a half months’ time.
Notably, the PCB had drew criticism from various franchises, who held the the board responsible for poorly managing the bio-secure bubble.
