IPL 2021: YuppTV acquires digital broadcasting rights for around 100 countries

YuppTV, an Over-the-top (OTT) content platform,  on Tuesday announced that it has acquired the digital broadcasting rights for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 in around 100 countries.

After the development, YuppTV will help cricket fans across the globe to witness and enjoy all the live matches of the IPL 2021, the company said in a statement.

“With the Vivo IPL now back in India, we are sure that fans are going to revel in the on-ground experience,” said Uday Reddy, Founder and CEO of YuppTV.

“YuppTV is committed to the growth of sports in the country and will continue to be driven by the power of cricket. Our users can enjoy their favourite sporting event in real time from the convenience of their homes,” he added.

After shifting to the UAE in 2020 owing to the nationwide lockdown, IPL is now back in India and YuppTV will be airing all the excitement from the lucrative league’s 14th edition, which will run between April 9 and May 30.

Leveraging this opportunity, YuppTV is bringing the highly engaging and anticipated action to close to 100 countries across territories — Continental Europe, Australia, Sri Lanka, South East Asia (except Singapore and Malaysia), Central and South America, Central Asia, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives.

Significantly, six — Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata will host the elague stage of the 2021 season.
